Layyah
Layyah is one of the UK’s most exciting emerging voices in rap, recognised for authoritative penmanship, confident delivery, and a commanding stage presence.
Repping Kennington in South London, she rose to national prominence as the first and only female winner of The Rap Game UK, marking the arrival of a powerful new talent in British rap.
Blending R&B soul, UK rap grit and Afroswing bounce, Layyah creates music that is emotionally intelligent, culturally grounded, and unapologetically confident.
Praised by Notion Magazine for “cementing her status as one of UK rap’s biggest risers,” and described as a “generational talent” by tastemakers Kenny Allstar and Riki Bleu, she has quickly established herself as a formidable new force within the UK rap landscape.
A dynamic live performer, Layyah has appeared on major platforms including the BBC Introducing Stage at Leeds Festival, Amazon Music’s +44 Five-Year Anniversary showcase, DJ Target’s Ladies of Grime Cypher, Sir Spyro’s International Women’s Day event, and Ben & Jerry’s festival activations, performing to large audiences with a bold and assured presence.
Her collaborations with artists such as Scorcher, Ms Banks, Nadia Rose, Mimi Mxnroe and Wohdee, alongside creative partnerships including the Steeze Factory collaboration, reflect a strong commitment to female empowerment and collaboration within UK rap.
Beyond performance, Layyah is committed to supporting the next generation of artists. She maintains strong ties with East London Arts and Music (ELAM), returning to perform at the college’s 10-year anniversary, while also collaborating with schools and music colleges to support and inspire emerging talent. Expanding her creative range, she has also begun exploring acting, making a cameo appearance in Rimzee’s Feed the Streets.
